HKTDC Entrepreneur Day

Start-ups of all shapes and sizes have a chance to showcase their potential.

WHAT: The 12th edition of HKTDC Entrepreneur Day (E-Day) is themed “Revive • Redefine” and aims to support start-ups that use disruptive and innovative ideas to redefine business rules and revive ever-changing business ecosystems. Highlights include Start-up Runway – a two-day start-up forum comprising a plenary session, thematic talks, sharing sessions and pitching; Pitchathon – a series of pitching events in the anchor entrepreneurial event, with the presence of high-quality start-ups and top investors; Start-up Clinic – customised consultation services exclusive to start-ups and entrepreneurs; Fund & Mentor Business Matching Session – one-on-one matching for start-ups to meet with potential investors and mentors to gain entrepreneurial advice and funding.

E-Day has several thematic zones. The Start-up Arena features technology start-ups in such sectors as healthtech, biotech, fintech, greentech, augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), the Internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics – alongside start-ups from non-tech industries.

The Boosters zone features, funding schemes and support service providers in such areas as marketing, accounting, legal services, logistics, insurance, entrepreneurship training, start-up consultancy and business management, web designing and hosting, and information technology support, as well as co-working spaces, business centres, non-government organisations, trade associations and governmental departments.

The Business Opportunities Zone features franchisors, franchising and brand agents, business brokerages and online businesses.

WHO: Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council

WHY: E-Day is the HKTDC's major start-up event, promoting entrepreneurship with a wealth of opportunities and supporting services tailor-made for start-ups in Hong Kong. In 2019, E-Day hosted more than 280 exhibitors and attracted more than 18,600 visitors.

This year, E-Day runs concurrently with the HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair, HKTDC Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and HKTDC Education & Careers Expo.

These events also run shortly before the Summer Sourcing Week, which includes nine fairs covering a range of sectors.
