Bangladesh boasts the world’s second largest ready-to-wear garment manufacturing industry after China. In the past two decades, growth in its garment sector has been phenomenal. After years of rapid growth, however, many challenges have surfaced, particularly the poor working conditions leading to recurrent industry casualties. Now at a crossroads, Bangladesh’s garment industry needs to be quickly revamped to ensure industry safety to secure export orders and encourage FDI. More
