Event Details

Objectives:

  • To help Hong Kong fashion companies capitalise on the RCEP opportunities with especially strong interest in the Japanese market
  • To create B2B opportunities for Hong Kong companies to meet with professional buyers and establish business networks in the market, as well as B2C exposure to test the market receptiveness in Japan
  • To enhance the sales pitching techniques of Hong Kong participants for successful international business orders


Programme elements:

  • Virtual market briefings by local industry associations such as the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) and SME Support Japan (TBC)
  • Online business matching meetings with professional buyers
  • A two-week physical pop-up promotion in Seibu Ikebukuro(西武池袋本店)to VIP buyers and mass consumers
  • Pre-event sales-pitching consultations by a professional agency
  • Post-event follow-up on potential orders / collaborations
  • Marketing and publicity


Application:

Submit application form with the following materials:

  • Designer profile with portrait image (at least 3mb)
  • Line sheet with suggested retail price
  • Look book
  • Stockist list
  • Valid Hong Kong Business Registration Certificate
  • Valid Hong Kong Brand Registration Certificate
  • Cross-cheque (payable to “Hong Kong Trade Development Council”)


Important Notes

  • Participating companies are required to attend all the marketing briefings and the business matching meetings in the mission programme assigned by HKTDC or the event agency appointed by HKTDC.
  • Participating companies are required to submit the relevant marketing materials in supporting the business matching meetings and the pop-up promotion.
  • The pop-up promotion will take place on 9-22 March 2022 at Seibu Ikebukuro in Tokyo. Each brand should reserve enough stocks for the pop-up promotion (approx. 10 SKUs).
  • Participating companies are responsible for round-trip shipments of products and the import tax incurred if any.
  • Professional salespersons from Seibu Ikebukuro or the event agency for the pop-up promotion will be responsible for the onsite sales pitch and transaction.
  • HKTDC and Seibu Ikebukuro have the final discretion over the number of SKUs and product placement during the pop-up promotion period.
  • Seibu Ikebukuro may further advise if extra product shipments are needed for replenishment purpose, as well as any administration fee on the total sales revenue.
  • Approved products should arrive at Tokyo by 18 February 2022 (self-arranged shipments).
  • For the two-week pop-up promotion, Seibu Ikebukuro will charge 40% of the total sales revenue as administration fee.
  • For the business matching services, the event agent will charge 15% of the total sales revenue as administration fee for success orders made.
  • Applications are subject to the final approval from HKTDC and Seibu Ikebukuro.

10-15 Hong Kong fashion apparel and accessory brands,
(such as handbags, scarves, eyewear, fashion jewellery, etc.)

Participation Fee

HKD$9,500 per brand
(approx. 10 SKUs)

Remarks

The SME Export Marketing Fund (EMF) Branch is of the preliminary view that the virtual mission is an eligible activity for funding support under the EMF. Hong Kong delegates in the mission may apply for funding support. The maximum amount of funding support for each successful application is 50% of the total approved expenditure incurred by the applicant enterprises. Please visit www.tid.gov.hk for more details.
