China to Adopt New Rules for Cross-Border Data Transfers in September

New Measures for Security Assessments in Cross-Border Data Transfers will come into force on 1 September. Under these measures, security assessments for such transfers are required of any operators that process the personal information of more than 1 million individuals, or that transfer important data or sensitive personal information out of China.
