Business Advisory Section, HKTDC Research
China’s General Administration of Customs recently announced that in order to ease the difficulties of enterprises and reduce their operating costs, steps will be taken to implement a “refund after levy” policy for two types of tax: import value-added tax (VAT) on natural gas and consumption tax on the import of naphtha and fuel oil for the production of ethylene and arene. The time taken to process natural gas import VAT refunds will also be shortened.
