China Announces 212 National Standards for Household Products, Smart Manufacturing and Others

The State Administration for Market Regulation (Standards Committee) recently approved and announced 212 important national standards, including 13 compulsory standards and 199 voluntary standards. Among these, the Custom Furniture—General Design Specification and a related national standard provide rules to follow for the designing and labelling of custom furniture, with the aim of upgrading the country’s furniture industry. The Testing Method for Noise of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances—Particular Requirements for Vacuum Cleaners and two other national standards specify methods for the noise-testing of vacuum cleaners, washing machines, centrifugal dryers and tumble dryers. Meanwhile, Intelligent Lighting Systems—General Requirements and another related standard are geared towards meeting market demand for high-quality intelligent lighting systems and products.
