China Issues Covid-19 Prevention and Disinfection Guidelines for Cold Chain Food Production

The Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council recently issued two technical guidelines for cold chain food works and the venues concerned. The two guidelines include:
- Technical Guideline for Prevention and Control of Novel Coronavirus in the Production of Cold Chain Food
This guideline applies to producers and business operators that process products by freezing, refrigerating and other means. Producers and business operators of cold chain food are required to establish an employee health record system.
- Technical Guideline for Disinfection of Novel Coronavirus in Cold Chain Food Production Processes
Cold chain food raw materials and semi-finished products from high-risk Covid-19 areas must undergo strict and effective disinfection of outer packaging before entering enterprise premises or storage.
