Hong Kong Signs Supplemental Arrangement on Mutual Enforcement of Arbitral Awards with Mainland

Hong Kong Secretary for Justice Teresa Cheng signed the Supplemental Arrangement Concerning Mutual Enforcement of Arbitral Awards between the Mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the Supreme People’s Court of Shenzhen on 27 November. Cheng said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region signed the Arrangement Concerning Mutual Enforcement of Arbitral Awards between the Mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as early as on 21 June 1999. Cheng pointed out: The signing of the Supplemental Arrangement will improve the operation of the Arrangement, provide both sides with a simple and effective mechanism for the mutual enforcement of arbitral awards, and further promote judicial co-operation in civil and commercial matters.
