Guangdong Suspends Extension of Production Safety Qualifications Expiring Amid Pandemic

The Department of Emergency Management of Guangdong Province recently issued a circular on improving the management of production safety qualifications and certificates under conditions of regular epidemic prevention and control (Yue Ying Ji No. 146 [2020]). Starting from 1 January 2021, execution of the rules announced by the Guangdong Department of Emergency Management in Announcement No. 4 [2020] will be suspended. Prior to this, if the production safety licence, business licence and safe use permit of relevant enterprises issued by the emergency management authority and its entrusted units, the qualification certificates of safety evaluation institutions, and so on, expire during the pandemic, their validity will be automatically extended to the end of Covid-19 prevention and control drive. The extension of the validity of certificates of production safety qualifications will also be suspended.
