Shanghai Unveils 14th Five-Year Plan and Long-Range Objectives

On 27 January, the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress adopted the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the Outline Plan of the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035. The blueprint envisages Shanghai making significant progress in its urban digital transformation and further upgrading its core functions as an international centre for economy, finance, trade, shipping, and sci-tech innovation by 2025. Its functions across all of those touchpoints and as a cultural metropolis will be upgraded in an all-round way by 2035.
