China Releases Revised Certification and Accreditation Regulations
23 February 2021
According to the 2020 revised edition of the Regulations on Certification and Accreditation issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation, China intends to implement a uniform certification and accreditation system, which will be overseen by the State Council’s certification and accreditation administrative department. To qualify as a certification body, that department’s approval will be necessary, and certification activities must be conducted within its approved scope. Representative offices established by foreign certification bodies in China may conduct promotional activities after undergoing registration with the administrative department for market regulation but may not carry out certification activities.
