Dongguan Unveils Plan to Develop Strategic Industrial Clusters

According to a plan issued by the Dongguan Municipal People’s Government around fostering and developing strategic industrial clusters (Dong Fu No. 10 [2021]), gross revenue from the city’s pillar industries – including next-generation electronic information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, textile, garment, footwear and headwear manufacturing, and the food and beverage sector, is projected to keep pace with the city’s overall economic development over the next five years. Meanwhile, revenue from emerging industrial clusters such as software and information services, new materials, new energy, biomedicine and high-end medical devices, and semiconductors and integrated circuits, is expected to maintain an annual growth rate of over 10%.
