Guangdong Pushes for Competitive Practices in Greater Bay Area
12 March 2021
The Guangdong provincial government issued a circular on 28 February requiring all government departments and their subordinate bodies to further promote competitive practices in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. They are asked to enhance anti-trust and anti-unfair competition efforts, prevent the disorderly expansion of capital, and raise levels of market integration in the 11-city zone.
Policies for early implementation include establishing a Greater Bay Area competition policy committee, which will have its own expert advisory group of the committee, enhancing anti-trust and anti-unfair competition law enforcement, creating a fair and convenient access environment, and raising awareness in society of international co-operation and competition.
