China Strengthens State Oversight over Entertainment Industry

The National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) recently issued a circular on strengthening governance in relation to performers who engage in illegal and unethical behaviour, or who contribute to an unhealthy fan culture and other problems. The NRTA will also regulate livestream content more closely and opposes entertainment industry trends such as excessively high salaries.
