OMAN: OPAZ Launches Electronic Land Selection Service for SEZAD Investors
22 October 2021
Oman’s Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) has introduced a land selection electronic service for investors in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD). Introduced on 9 October 2021, the e-service enables investors to instantly select a plot for their project using interactive maps designed for over 800 different economic activities.
Other features include measuring the distance from the plot to SEZAD landmarks; details of the land’s altitude; full measurements; and adjoining land areas. The system also provides coordinates and approximate distances to utilities such as water, electricity, telecommunications and roads.
Investors can also search the plots using interactive maps, access modern satellite images, print maps, and obtain relevant data related to the master plan and public services. Requests for plots with customised specifications can also be made through the e-service.
The OPAZ said that the e-service will expedite procedures for SEZAD investors, cut time and effort spent finding the right land for projects and promote fairness and transparency for all investors. The service will eventually be extended to include other free zones.
Investors must register on https://eoss.duqm.gov.om/Home/Login to access the service; submit the usufruct request; pay the necessary fees and pick the land that fits their project.
