China Bans Edible Gold and Silver in Food

The National Health Commission and other departments have pointed out that under China’s laws and regulations governing food safety standards, gold and silver foil and powder substances are not food additives and must not be used in the production of food. Enterprises must not import and sell food containing gold or silver foil and powder.
